How can psychotherapy help me?

You know how sometimes you wish you could just talk to someone about yourself without worrying about they might judge you or whom they'll talk to about you? That's how therapy can help you. Therapy is a non-judgemental place to talk about your life with someone who wants to support you without adding to the stress.

Therapy can be for everyone. I expect my clients to understand that to reach their goals, there has to be a willingness for treatment even if it’s just a small sense of "let's try it." My idea of functional therapy is walking away with a sense of knowing a little more about yourself and confidence in who you are whether it be alone, in a couple, or within your family unit. 

 Why do people seek psychotherapy?

People seek psychotherapy for a multitude of reasons. Whether you want someone to vent to that is not your family or friend. Help with substance use or impulse control. Grief over a loved one. Need help with communication and boundaries with your family. Or maybe you need some help finding your perspective; therapy may help.
